winding down

With school fast approaching, I have to sit back and think of all we've done this summer.

I have to say this has been one of the best summers we've had- the weather cooperated with us until July- which was much better than last summer!  (The whole summer was over 100 degrees and miserable!) And better weather made for more time outside!

We have a few more things to check off the summer to-do list.  Most of them we might not get to- they include going places outside of our small town (Royals baseball games, spend the night in a hotel, etc).

However, God has been good to us this summer.  A few minor things like a mirror, and maybe some shelves on the walls, and Sophie's room will be done.  We are SO excited for her arrival in just a few weeks!

Since all the major stores we go to are giving up on people having a good time in their backyard pool, we are taking this thing down. Just because they want to get their back to school stuff out?  It's sad.  It would have been a nice relaxing thing to do after a day at school.  But, we still have this for Trey...
Jada found out that when your own bedroom looks like this...
Then you just get more toys and take over your parents bedroom, too.

I'm thinking Dollhouse Mom and I are feeling the same emotion about this.

I've been in this position at one point this summer.  :)

The last week or so I've been thanking God more and more for all the blessings he's given us. Just today a neighbor came by and brought lots of tomatoes.  How could he have known Chad needed more tomatoes for the salsa he's making tonight?

With friends coming over this afternoon, and vehicle shopping this evening, my brother, sis-in-law, and niece coming tomorrow, we are definitely keeping ourselves busy.  Because let's face it- we have exactly 16 days until this mom goes back to work. Things are definitely winding down.

Why does stores having school supplies out mean you have to put your pool away? Sorry, I must not be catching on to something!

I think I want a pool like your's next year!! Just thinking tho'. Wal-Mart must think that with school approaching, people don't use their pools anymore!! Dah...kind of hard to keep a pool clean without filters!! Do they have a suggestion box? Like, keep your pool supplies into the fall!!
