like a dog

I imagine myself laying on my side, my legs and arms out in front of me.  My legs and arms twitch and "run" like a dog does when he dreams.

How else could I be this sore in the morning?

My dream early this morning was about bears in Colorado.  I was trying to get to my car without one seeing me.  Several times.  Why didn't I just stay home?

Mommy/daugthers date

Have you ever have a really good morning with your kids?

One where the girls play really well together.
And where the boy "helps" you clean (which takes two times longer than it should).

And then they say those words you kind of like to hear because they ARE playing so well- "Are we going anywhere today?  Because me and Jada don't want to leave the house today."

But, then you get a great idea to take the two girls and yourself to a cheap movie for the afternoon since there's basketball for the boys to watch anyway.

And then, the movie is sold out after a 35 minute drive there.  35 minutes because you realize on the way out the door that you need cash only at this particular movie theater.

Ever have one of these days?

It all might end nicely here because I offered to take them ice skating since the movie was sold out.

But, it doesn't.
We should have just stayed home- since that's what they WANTED to do anyway.

Don't let these smiling faces fool you.
There's a chance that after this 30 minutes of "ice skating" (it's a plastic surface that is actually harder to skate on than real ice), one of them complained about not getting to ride the train and not getting to bungee jump.
There's also a chance that they were put on no-talking on the way home in the car because of bad attitudes and yelling at each other.

But, never fear- a family movie night cheered everyone right up.

Mr. Popper's Penguins.
And popcorn.

Next time I will listen to my children and not make them leave the house.

Side note:  While I was buying socks for Jada (to go ice skating) the girls were posing like mannequins.  They were cracking people up!  By the time I got my camera out they were getting pretty silly.

Happy Valentine's Day

2 weeks ago:
Chad- "My mom is coming the weekend of the 18th to watch the kids.  Don't make any plans."

Me- "Where are we going?"
Chad- "I'm not telling.  It's a surprise, but it's for Valentine's Day."

1 week ago:
Me-"Where are going?  Can you give me any hints?"
Chad- "I'm not telling you.  It's a surprise.  It takes between 3 and 3 1/2 hours to get there."

So, my guesses were:
Kansas City:  but, why?
Oklahoma city:  but, why?

5 days ago:
my guesses were:
*a KU game- but he said he would be packing a sports shirt.  And he wasn't going to pack a sports shirt.
*we were going to fly somewhere.  But, that wasn't right either.

3 days ago:  Chad tells me that I need to just wear something I would wear on a date.  I'm thinking, "A date that's 3 hours away?"

Yesterday:  Chad and I got in the car.  We drove towards Oklahoma City.  I'm on my phone looking up place we could be going to.  Until he turns onto another highway headed towards Tulsa.  I get back on my phone and look up concerts in Tulsa for the weekend.  And THIS is what I found.
My mouth FELL TO THE FLOOR!
I told Chad about a month ago that I'd love to go to this:  Cirque De Soleil:  Michael Jackson World Tour.
He is so good to me.
One of my Bucket List events was to go to a Michael Jackson concert, and since that can't happen anymore, this was the next best thing!  I was amazing seeing all the dancers dressed like him, dancing like him, and the music was AH-MAZING!

I couldn't take any pictures during the show, but this was how high we were!

Chad's family can tell you how much I love heights (because of a ski lift experience I had at the zoo once in Omaha), so when we got up to our seats I was in tears and starting to have a panic attack.  But, I talked myself out of it fairly quickly and the more people came to sit in front of me, the calmer I became.  I busied myself with trying to get a good picture of this.  Didn't work.
It was fun to see all of the Michael Jackson look-alikes.  The cutest was this little girl.  I wish I got a better picture, but she was pretty attached to her mom by the end of the show.
The hat.
The glove on the back of her vest.
The sparkly socks.
The black shoes.
This was such an awesome surprise!
Something I will remember for a LONG time!

snow

Our first snow of the winter season.
Gracie was the only one who wanted to play in it.
She played for a while, and just when I was about to take pictures, she came in to warm up!
She made a bunch of snowballs...
But then was nice enough to head back out there (without snowpants, gloves or hat) for one more picture.
I know it's pretty pathetic, as far as snow goes.  But, we've been waiting for this stuff all winter!

sweet tooth

Gracie and Trey did this little big project of
sorting out the candy jars.
They got threw two of them.
I think we might have a problem.
Please don't tell our dentist.

dang

I lost our camera.
Do you know what this means?

No Pictures For Ever Until I Find That Thing.

Dang.
And dang.

On a different note-
I came up with another DIY project tonight.
I haven't had the motivation to do anything with one of the windows I got from Kristin.

However, now I know what I'm doing this weekend!
{squeal}

On another note:
My student teacher started in my classroom last week.

She's great.
I love her.
So sweet.

Ouch!

How does she sleep like that?
Kindergarten is just so exhausting!
She's having such a blast at school
that she's completely worn out in the evenings.

how cute is this kid?

It's never fun to be woken up by your husband's voice saying, "Trey threw up in his bed.  Can you help me?"
He must have done it in his sleep because he was sleeping in it.
You think that's gross- try getting that smell out of your nose.
Unfortunately, he couldn't go back to sleep very well and wanted Chad to get up at 3:30 a.m. to play....

...which made the day a little easier for me because after a lunch at 10:30 a.m and a warm bath with foam letters ("T" is for Trey!), he was asleep by 11:30 a.m!
But, so far he's only puked once.
I'm thinking we got lucky.
And let's just hope none of the rest of us gets it.
However, Trey and Jada shared a sucker while we had Gracie's IEP/conference last night.
So, you thinkin' what I'm thinkin'?
