scatterbrained

That's what I'm choosing to call myself.
Scatterbrained.
We've had such a busy weekend.
I managed to miss Jada's friend's birthday party on Saturday.  And a Sunday School Teacher's meeting today.
But, we painted the girls rooms.
Jada's is "Swan Lake Blue"- she agreed on that paint mostly because it's the name of her favorite Barbie movie.  And the other color in her room is called, "Surf's Up," which, of course, goes along with another one of her favorite Barbie movies.
I didn't include it a picture of it, but her Barbie house fits so nicely in another corner of her room.  This bedroom is so big that she actually has room to spread her things all over the place in there.
And I do mean ALL OVER THE PLACE!

Gracie's room is a light blue.  Her favorite color.
Score!
Blue bed (that was left by the former homeowners).
Blue walls.
She needs/wants new bedding for Christmas.  Something with, you guessed it, BLUE in it.
One of her favorite things to do this weekend while the painting was going on was "practicing" a fire drill out her window.

We need to paint the living room/hallway, but after much thought we've decided to hire someone else to do it.  The living room has ledges that are way up there.  So, if you know of someone who paints....
Seemed like everything we did this weekend got pushed back and pushed back throughout the day, so we didn't get to the pumpkin carving until after supper tonight.  The night before Halloween.
Oh, November, how I will cheer your presence Tuesday morning!

footloose

I saw the remake of Footloose tonight with Amy.
It was really, really cute.
However, watching this movie years later as a PARENT, it made me nervous.

Will MY girls act like that when they are teenagers?  I mean, I know they aren't PK's.  But, will they BE like that when they are 18?  Rebellious.  Self-centered.  Unaware of how their actions look to other people.

Makes me want to start building a house where Chad and I will live with them forever until eternity- watching their every move.

Ok, maybe not THAT overprotective.
But, I do know I'm not ready to be a parent of a teenager yet.
Just a parent of one who would like to THINK she's a teenager.
"I'm a pre-teen, Mom."
Umm... yeah.  You're eight.
Please don't grow up too fast!

Where have I been?

We moved.
Across town.
I promise to write and post pictures.

It took two and a half trailor loads to get here.
We love this house.
We can't believe it's our's.
God is so great, and we feel so blessed.

Now, back to cleaning.
Unpacking.
Getting used to driving to a house on this side of town.

When no one is watching the dog...

Jada fell asleep on Greenie tonight.
Chad put her in bed.
Without Ashley.
If you know anything about Jada, you know she loves two things probably as much as Mommy and Daddy.
That's Bunny Bear, and Ashley.

While when no one is watching the dog- he eats things.
Tonight he found Ashley.
Doctor Mommy had to assess the damage, and decide if surgery was in order.  I knew it wasn't possible.
So, I did the best I could, with the materials left in the house from packing to move.
A kleenex.
And a band aid.
Poor thing.
No more right hand.
Ashley now sports a permanent cast.
Well... until this one gets nasty enough to change it.
She did great though.
Such a good baby.
Slept through the whole procedure.

Going to the Ball

Four Princesses came to our house last Friday.
Here are two of them.
Aren't they beautiful?

I pulled them around in the carriage until we arrived at the "ball."
And then, they pulled each other around.
Sometimes with the prince would join them.

Too bad they never got to the Ball.
Sometimes getting ready takes so long, and is so fun- you don't have time for the party!

What is it with boys, mud, and lose grass?
