Where has the time gone?

I feel bad about not posting on my blog very much since school started.  It's just been so crazy since August.  I don't have my computer time at home (which actually could be a blessing in disguise), and it seems like more important things come up.

With that said, I still want memories to be here- for family who doesn't get to see my children often, and for the blog book (whenever I actually get THAT made!!!).

So, a few memories of the last few days...
1. We went to Aunt Kim's farm for Thanksgiving.
2. We then went on to Omaha for the weekend.
3. Went Black Friday shopping with Hannah and Tracy.
4. 6 out of 12 of us puked all night Friday into Saturday morning.
5. Spent Saturday in bed.
6. Then Chad and Roy got sick.
7. We left Omaha Sunday with a few less queasy stomachs.
8. We also left our bathroom bag (make up, kid shampoo, hair straightener, medicine, toothbrushes, etc) in Omaha.
9. I had to take Trey to Wal-Mart when we got home at 9:00 p.m. and have him literally run beside the cart because he wasn't ready for bed.  People keep telling me they are only this little for a very short time.  I loved watching him run and be excited about how FAST he is in his Cars shoes!  He could stay this age for a loooong time and I'd be happy.  But, I know that won't happen.
10. We also realized Monday night we left all the things I bought on Black Friday, in Omaha.
11.  Got a haircut that doesn't look like the picture I took in.  bummer.  Now I want my straightener back.  Oh well- a trip to Wal-Mart will take care of that.  :)

Thankful

There is a chance that:
*I was a little overwhelmed by motherhood tonight.
*my son was dragged on the floor because he thought it was funny.
*my daughter said, "Is that ALL that I get?" after buying her a new pair of shoes.
*we fed our children huge soft pretzels and cheese for supper at the mall.
*while were waiting for our dessert, our son pulled a new, clean diaper out of my purse and then wore it as a hat.
*our son had a time-out in Payless because he was throwing shoes.
*our children were crying out, "No!  Mommy!" when I helped put them into the van and walked to the car to drive home by myself- mommy guilt strings pulling, but the thought of alone time for 30 minutes pulled me toward the car.

But, tomorrow is a new day.  And I'm thankful for that.
I'm thankful we get to be with lots of family who will help entertain my children, and get me balanced back to normal.

Jazzy's perch

Our gargoyle on his perch.

If the fireplace is going, he's either sitting right here, or on the red bed on the floor.

um... yeah...

So, it's possible I had one of my top five worst experiences tonight.

Imagine being in a tiny shower where you barely have room to get away from the blasting water coming out of the shower head- that is so high you can't get your head above the water.  All the while you're looking around for something to wash your hair with- only to find CONDITIONER and bodywash.  No shampoo.

Fantastic.

We have three bathrooms.  All with showers.  However, this one is in the basement where it's Fa-reeezing (!) because I like to have the fireplace on upstairs.

brrr....

Let me head to my bed where I have a sheet and TWO comforters.  I love the flurries outside.
But, I also like to be warm INside.

And yes, I do realize this isn't THAT bad if it's one of my top five worst experiences of my life.
I'm spoiled.
And rotten.
And cold.
Brrrr....

Six

My Jada.
Who is now Six.
Smiles.
Laughs.
Sings.
Dances.
Plays.
Runs.
Questions.
Skips.
Writes.

Jada,
You are amazing.  Your smile is contagious because it's usually followed by a giggly laugh.  You don't care if you look silly doing creative dances, or opera songs, or cheers.  You play mostly with Barbies and Polly's.

You question why things happen, why it's this way and not that way.  You might not always know what day of the week we're in, but you know how many days until your birthday!  You've started writing so many different words since starting Kindergarten, and you love to write notes to people now!  You are always writing or telling Daddy and I how much you love us.

You recently started gymnastics and it's fun to see what a natural you are at it!  We're REALLY looking forward to seeing if this will be a passion for you.  You make friends easily and have shown me I didn't need to be worried about kindergarten and if you'd crawl in a shell, or make friends.  You're a friendly girl.  I should have known better!

We love you so much honey!
Happy 6th birthday!
love, Mommy

what's this for?

We had special guests this weekend.
Aunt Hannah, Uncle Tom, and Baby Pepsi Elsie.

When Trey found out they were coming he decided the sleeping arrangements.  Tom could sleep between Chad and myself.  His Baby Pepsi could sleep in his car bed.  And her Mama could sleep beside her.

This (luckily?) didn't happen.  I had gallbladder surgery on Friday, so no one wanted to sleep by me!  But, we found good sleeping arrangements and everyone had a bed!  For once, our company had a bedroom with a bed to sleep on!  So cool!

Saturday morning Chad had therapy appointments so while he was gone, the rest of us painted.  What for- you ask?  You'll see.  I picked out specific colors for the paintings and actually had in mind that friends of Gracie and Jada would help paint them... but I liked this idea much better because it's family.  I will post pictures of the end result in the room that it's going in.

trick or treat

Don't let mom and dad know I'm posting this.
I just wanted proof that you saw me.
They barely saw me Hallween night.
"Why," you ask?
Because I'm a BAT!
Don't be fooled by my Batman mask.
I'm NOT Batman.
I'm a... BAT!
My sisters- the lovely Rapunzel, and colorful Rainbow Princess were showing off their cuteness Halloween night.
But, not me.
I was FAST!
I was tricky.
I was... BAT!
